Saizen® Delivery Devices

Saizen^® has been treating growth hormone (GH) deficiency since 1996 and Saizen^® devices are designed with the patient in mind.

Saizen^® must be given by injection. The injection is subcutaneous, which means the medication is delivered into the fatty tissue that lies just below the skin. Saizen^® can be administered via several delivery devices. Your doctor will help you choose the delivery device that’s right for you.

Saizen^® delivery devices include:

easypod^® — an electronic, automated drug delivery device

cool.click^®2 — a needle-free GH delivery device

Saizen^® is also available for use with standard needle and syringe in 5mg and 8.8mg vials.

Indication:
Pediatric Patients
Saizen^® [somatropin (rDNA origin) for injection] is indicated for the treatment of children with growth failure due to inadequate secretion of endogenous growth hormone.
Adult Patients
Saizen^® [somatropin (rDNA origin) for injection] is indicated for replacement of endogenous growth hormone in adults with adult or childhood onset growth hormone deficiency.

Important Safety Information: Saizen^® is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to growth hormone, diabetic retinopathy, acute critical illness in the presence of active malignancy, and in patients with Prader-Willi syndrome who are severely obese or have severe respiratory impairment. Saizen^® should be used with caution in patients with insulin resistance, glucose intolerance, diabetes, hypothyroidism, intracranial hypertension and in women who are pregnant or nursing. Although infrequent, delivery site reactions may occur. Saizen^®, easypod^®, click.easy^®, cool.click^®2 and one.click^® are available by prescription only.
